SCDPPPS Mourns the Passing of Kim Frederick, Chairperson of the SC Board of Paroles and Pardons

The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (SCDPPPS) is deeply saddened by the unexpected death of Kim Frederick, Chairperson of the SC Board of Paroles and Pardons. She was the representative from the Seventh Congressional District originally appointed by the Governor and confirmed to the SC Board of Paroles and Pardons in 2017.
“Ms. Frederick upheld the values of honesty, accountability and a deep commitment to excellence as she served on the SC Board of Paroles and Pardons.” SCDPPPS Acting Director Chadwick Gambrell expressed. “She will be profoundly missed.”
She earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Education from the University of South Carolina. Ms. Frederick devoted much passion and expertise to the SC Board of Paroles and Pardons.
