The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services is scheduled for a site-based assessment as part of its voluntary participation in a program to maintain law enforcement accreditation. This assessment will take place from March 8, 2026 through March 11, 2026 and will verify that the Department is meeting professional standards.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the site-based assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to submit comments through the Accreditation Public Comment Portal provided by CALEA®. Comments must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA® Standards. A copy of the standards is available for viewing by contacting Crystal Owens, Director of Accreditation Management at Accreditation.Management@ppp.sc.gov.
